The Gospel

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes. Romans 1:16 (CSB)

Below is a brief explanation of the gospel. If you would like to learn more about the good news of Jesus Christ and its implications for everyday life, please contact

God is the Creator of the heavens and earth and every human being. One of His most fundamental attributes is His holiness. As a holy God, He must appropriately punish sin.

Although we should be grateful to our Creator and reverence His holiness, we have all rejected him and sinned against Him. Our sin separates us from a loving relationship with God and condemns us eternally in hell.

The good news is that God has not left us alone. He took the initiative and sent his Son to become a man, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus lived a sinless life, perfectly obeying the Father.  Jesus also died on a cross as a perfect substitute, receiving the punishment that we deserve for our sin. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, proving that His sacrifice for sins was accepted by the Father and that this gospel message is true.

We can receive forgiveness of sins and experience a reconciled relationship with God through repentance and belief. No good deed or religious ritual could ever pay the sin debt we owe. Repentance is turning from your sins toward Christ. Believing is trusting in Jesus alone for our salvation. God commands everyone to respond to this message by completely abandoning all sin and trusting solely in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
